I got my Tour today after using an ATT Curve for about two years. It is a very pleasant change |
I just picked up the new Curve 2 and love it. I was a die hard curve owner and haven't been completely satisfied since. I tried the Storm but returned it as the touch screen just wasn't for me. I then moved to the Tour, which I really liked, but I missed my Curve still. I like how the keys are separated on the Curve and I like the smaller form factor. The new curve 2 feel so freakin light and I love the touch pad.
Get it, you'll love it. |
My wife just got one on tmo... the trackpad is amazing.

Curve2 Pros: Very light, Trackpad is very good, typing is just like the Curve1. I've got a bug with mine where the escape key does not work--so I worry about durability. Cons: Screen resolution is OK, sometimes the screen looks cloudy.
Tour Pros: Very crisp display, typing is good and after replacing my defective unit with the rollerball that couldn't go left/right, the trackball worked very well. Cons: You can't clean or service the trackball--what were they thinking? It is also pretty heavy once you hold the Curve2. Storm2 Pros: Much better than Storm1, fast and scrolling is good. Cons: Heavy compared to Curve2, typing is still a challenge... if they would let you calibrate your touch then it would be less of a problem. It always seems like it selects something lower than where u actually touch. You need to aim higher. Also, the four buttons at the bottom are a real problem. They don't work 50% of the time. You have to press 2-3 times to get them to work. The physical buttons were so much better. So, you have to pick the device with the problems that bother you the least. I still don't have a favorite out of the three. But, if I had to pick, probably the Tour with the Storm as a my 2nd choice. Hope the info helps. |
I can't stand the keyboard on the Tour and I am sure the Tour 2 will have the same one... Loved the keyboard on the Curve and the Curve 2 keyboard is just as nice...
If you like the Tour keyboard then wait for Tour 2.. If you don't like the Tour keyboard and like the Curve version then get the Curve 2... Also, the Tour takes 8 minutes or more to boot... Don't know if the Tour 2 will take forever as well but the Curve 2 for me is booting in about 2 minutes.. |
Tour 2 nest Qtr is a great choice if you can wait

I'd suggest you go to a Verizon store and try them out... The keyboards on the Tour and Curve are night and day.. You will like one or the other and that should make your decision...
If you like the Tour KB then I'd wait for the Tour 2 as it will have the trackpad, gps, and OS 5.something... If you don't like the Tour KB then go with the Curve as I am pretty sure the Tour 2 will sport the same KB as the Tour 1... Kris |
I'd choose my curve keyboard over the tour any day. I like the separated keys.

All personal preference I look forward to going back to the 88xx style keyboard, I could type on that one handed without even looking at my device.
