9700 - Sending high quality video via e-mail or mms text
Hi:
Does any one know if you can send "high quality resolution" videos taken using bold 9700 via e-mail or mms txt? The only option that appears on Blackberry to send these videos is via Bluetooth. Also, does the Blackberry software allow you to transfer these videos from the device to your computer. Thanks Brad |

You can send email attachments, but there is a size limt. I don't know off hand what it is, but you can look it up. I don't know about options with MMS. To transfer to the computer, if on the media card, enable mass storage and drag and drop with my computer or windows explorer. If in main memory, you'll need media manager in desktop manager, or move from main memory to the media card using the blackberry first, then drag and drop to the computer with windows explorer or my computer. |
Thanks Ira

http://m.qik.com from your handset (Qik | Share Live Video From Your Mobile Phone) - the app works for uploading any size video on the 9700, select the Curve 8900 app.. it doesn't allow for streaming though but they are working on a 9700 version....
i do not believe it downgrades the quality. |
That is what I use as well. You have the option to make your folder public or not to see your videos online. Just have to keep the actual backup copies off your phone and rename them for archive purposes.

QIK degrades the quality so I've been searching for a better solution...
itookthisfrommyphone.com works pretty good also, you can have it sync with just about any site - facebook, youtube, myspace, ect. I tried the YouTube sync and it worked great. Select any file on your bb and upload it. It's fairly slow (400k/min upload based on my tests with 3G 9700 with great signal strength) but it works. The only problem I find with this app is it uploads EVERYTHING you take while the app is running (videos and pictures). So you have to manually close the app if you do not want it to upload automatically. You can have it auto upload into a private folder for security but uploading everything still seriously drains the battery. It runs at start up if you reboot your phone the app is back on. In summary, the app was cumbersome and wasn't effective to push videos out as I needed. I deleted it and will continue to look for something more effective. |
New way to Share Video/Photo
Try this free app: YouCast for Blackberry. It allows you to send BIG BIG media files from bb to bb or from bb to regular email account. No quality degrade, no web site sharing, directly deliver to the recipients. To download the software, point your bb browser to m.youcast.net/blackberry.html
