.607 Great!
I have to admit, I was a little nervous about .607 watching some of the posts. But I am here to tell you it is worth it. Everything is better and faster and neater. Everything from the app world arrows to the neat hour glass to the spread apart keyboard. I know someone out there has an official list of ALL the changes made. So I don’t have to search and find out by accident. For example, I don’t think I had this with .328 but if you go to options, screen/keyboard, show key indicator, and push always, you will find something I have been waiting for! Text something after you change the settings……cool.

As long as you don't have any Groups in BlackBerry Messenger. There is a bug where the keyboard doesn't come up so you can't chat in the group.

The Key indicator is being available since .451
Im glad you have no problems with .607, but I the "spread keyboard" is an illusion, the size is the same (the font is a bit smaller). .607 has no improvement over .517 in my experience (maybe battery life, but I notice no change) Im not trying to sabotage your thread, but since you are encouraging people to go for it, I feel like I must warn people to think twice about it.... Its a sour experience to change OS 2 times and downgrade its a bit tricky for unexperienced people... Probably the bugs I came across were related to the 3rd party apps I have, but many of them are very common apps, such as Google Maps (4.0.1), Shazam, Slacker, Opera... and as some people replied, there were also bugs linked to core apps as well (Today screen, BBM groups) I experienced an almost frozen phone after clearing the Event Log with .607. The only upside I note in .607 is also present in .517 so there is no need to upgrade further at this moment... If you are coming from .320 I understand you find it to be a good upgrade, but its not the best out there now... |
I just did the upgrade and I was alittle worried but it seems to have worked for my storm 2 just fine. So it could'nt hurt.

I pay no attention to unofficial updates, warranty is important to me. I am not smart enough to keep up with updates that are not warranted by Verizon. So I came up from .328. That is the boring life I am a part of.

Contrary to what you may have been told or heard, installing other OS's does NOT void your warranty. If you have a problem they may request that you reinstall their released OS, but your warranty is not affected by OS.

How do I get back to .320 so I can get .607?
I am currently running a .428 leak and want to get the official .607. I understand that I have to get back to an official OS before loading the new one. How can I do this?
Thanks |

You don't need to go to another version first. Just update. There are stickies at the top of this forum with download links and instructions. |

If there's no sticky there you should be able to download from the Verizon site. |
Just download and load with Desktop Manager?
|
I recommend loading all OS's with Loader.exe found in c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader
|
The only problems I have with the new updates are:
1) When sending a text, you make corrections, it wont let me go past the last letter so when I begin typing again it's between the last word. 2)The buttons on the bottom of Call Log are gone so its annoying trying to track the call times between one person and checking the vm from my phone. |

Another major bug in the release. Are you running "leaked" or "official" one? I am on "leaked" not sure if it acts same in "official" one...... |

There is absolutely NO difference between "leaked" and "official" versions. If there were a difference the version number would change. So, "leaked" .607 is exactly the same as "official" .607. |
I'm curious: Should .607 be stickied rather than 5.0.0.909/5.0.0.517 if .607 is the latest official release?
