Personal Liable Mobile Support

I know this has been asked before but wanted to see from other ADMINS what is going on with personal liable mobile devices be it Blackberry or other models?

I'm currently checking out Good Technology due to the pressure to support iPhone. Last year we moved anyone not on Blackberry to one or if they choose to keep their device they would be limited to web based email (OWA/OMA).

I know Pinjo is part of another session at WES and there are a bunch more as this is likely a major question for every company. How do you support and what risks are there? Will this extend to other technology and everything moves to BYOT?

Love to get some feedback on this on what others are doing and how you address support, compliance, security.

We let anyone connect with EAS or BES. No OWA access here (is disabled at firewall) for BIS users since we can knot wipe the device.

Users will have device wiped upon leaving, unless management approves otherwise.

We don't support any personal devices - no connecting to the BES at all.

That being said, there is no blocking of OWA so anyone can (and they do), set up their BlackBerry w/company email using BIS and their iPhone/iTouch using Exchange Activesync.

I've brought up the HUGE security hole above to management, and have thus far been brushed off. I do have it in writing though (the decision to not do anything about it) so it cannot come back to bit me in the behind WHEN it becomes and issue (not a question of 'if', IMO).

Pinjo isn't the only one in that session this year.

While we don't allow personally owned BBs to connect to the Enterprise, we have 5 "key" users that are given the opportunity to connect with a few rules.
* Security Policy is applied equally.
* We do not support the device. PERIOD.
* We do not touch the device. PERIOD.
* We do not give advice on applications, personal e-mails or functionality. PERIOD.

Get the idea?
