Can't watch YouTube videos on 8530

Whenever I attempt to watch videos on YouTube, I get "Error Playing". I'm not on a Data Plan yet, but I'm using my Wi-Fi at home. Another problem I have is on BBM, my display picture isn't showing on other people's BB and some aren't showing in mine.

There is NO way you can use BBM without a Blackberry data plan.
It simply cannot work.
So, you must have a blackberry data plan.

I'm with Telus with the Clear Social Plan. It has unlimited Facebook, instant messenger and my space. Here's a link for info upon the plan: BlackBerry® Social | Plans for BlackBerry | Plans | TELUS Mobility Although I'm thinking of changing it to a 500mb plan.

I have an unlimited data plan for my 8530 and get the same error message. Telus says upgrade OS but it didn't play after a week out of the box. BS is what I say. Someone must have an answer.

I do a battery pull almost daily. Maybe it is my OS. 5.0.0.386.

Are you using YouTube - Broadcast Yourself.?

What is your free memory?

Have you tried deleting browser cache and cookies?

If nothing else works, an OS upgrade is next thing to try.

If you are doing a battery pull daily that means you may be running too many apps at a time. Even if they are running in the background, it can still slow down your device

No, I do a battery pull daily as preventive maintenance to keep my BB running good and make sure it isn't running apps in the background.

I get the same error. Customer service told me that streaming won't work over wifi. I didn't quite follow the explanation as to why. Anyway, it works just fine when connected to the 3g network. So you should get on a data plan and shut off the wifi when you want to watch youtube.

Yeah its been a week outta box for me too. It only works on wifi every once in a while. But my area doesn't even have 3g yet so I can only watch when I'm at home. I had the same problem with the 8330. Blackberry is starting to piss me off.

When on ur home screen press and hold ur menu button it will show u all the apps that r running if u close every app when done useing it u won't have any running, there should only be 5 running and they will run no matter what or the phone won't work they are (call log, messages, bbm, home, and web)also go to app world and look for quick pull it does the same as pulling the battery without pulling the battery and u can set to run everyday, once a week and when ur memory hit reaches what u have it set to ex(20) it will ask u if u want to restart ur device
