Storage question
Let me begin by confessing that I am not tech savvy at all; so if these question sounds like a "Well, D'uh!" please forgive me.
I have an 8GB media card on my 8320. What exactly can be stored on these cards? Music? Photos? Videso? Applications? Also, is there a way to increase the basic memory of my phone? Thank you. Paula |
Re: Storage question
You can store all types of media on the SD card. Videos, ringtones, pictures, music. You cannot store contacts, applications, messages, ect on the device.
Also, you cannot increase the device memory. For more information, check out the FAQ. |
Re: Storage question
A clarification on the above, you cannot run applications from the card. App world can archive apps to the media card, and I've even read instructions for installing app from the media card for those who cannot download over the air (OTA).
But otherwise, it's true, the microSD media card is intended for audio, image, and video files, and document files. The databases used by apps on the blackberry except in rare cases are kept in main memory. (An exception, for an example, the MetrO public transportation guide app can, when configured by the user to do so, store city databases on the media card.) Posted via BlackBerryForums.com Mobile |
