Pending BBM Messages
 

Hi -

My device died a few days back and I am currently waiting on the replacement to be delivered. In the meantime I have a couple of questions:

1.) What happens to those BBM messages sent to me after I went "offline" - are they in a "holding status"? Will I receive them once I activate my new device and transfer data from the old one?

2.) Is there a way of retrieving/reading them without the device?

2) No.

1) The messages are in a que waiting to be pushed when the network detects that your BlackBerry is connected. My belief is that when you switch your BIS to the new BlackBerry and it connects to the network, those message, BIS emails, and so forth will push to the new device.

By the way, if you are going to restore a backup to the new BlackBerry, do it with mobile network and wifi off first. Otherwise when you restore the backup you will overwrite any message received, unless you do selective restore of other databases except messages.
