prompt to close tabs - why?

Currently using 600 software but this happens regardless of the software I use,

The timer comes up while browsing the web and then I am prompted to close tabs even if I only have 2-3 open,

Sometimes I decline to close the tabs and it works, and other times it crashes and closes them all automatically,

The web pages I'm browsing are basic text pages, no pictures or videos,

I tried doing a complete wipe and shrinking the OS down to a bare minimum but that didn't help,

I clear my browser history cookies etc etc constantly, that doesn't help,

I have no apps running in the background, only the "big 5"

I do the alt LGLG thing and clear the history log all the time,

I have auto memory cleaning turned on,

I am out of ideas, and have come to the conclusion that this phone just has insufficient memory,

Can soebody please prove me wrong?

I know you implied you have tried a different OS version but only thing comes to mind are OS bugs or some sort of Javascript things running on those webpages.

Have you checked to see how much free memory you have? When is the last time you did a battery pull?

Thanks for the reply, my free memory is 293137072 Bytes

Other than the bare operating software I only have one other small application loaded and that's it,

I do a battery pull every few days but it doesn't seem to help, I am out of ideas here,

Well free memory shouldn't be an issue. Does it happens more frequently with certain websites?

it happens with any websites none in particular....they are just basic websites though, not extremely large and all text....they dont have any pics or videos....

Re: prompt to close tabs - why?

I think this phone just simply does not have adequet or enough memory, I am very disappointed with this phone and I regret getting it,

Is there a way to downgrade this phone to an older OS that is smaller? I would be willing to do that if it would work properly,

I had an 8310 before this and never had a problem with it, I should have just stuck with it,

There are only two advantages that I can think of that my 9780 has over my 8310, the web browser is faster and the camera is better and that is it,

I'm not sure what the problem is, but based on what you showed above, you have plenty of available memory. Maybe provide the websites you are visiting. Someone with the same type phone might be able to test and see if they experience the same issue.

As far as downgrading, see this FAQ -> How do I downgrade the OS on my BlackBerry? - BlackBerryFAQ

Re: prompt to close tabs - why?

Thanks for the info,

Also, when I go to options, device, app management, then I scroll across to app storage,

The bar there is in the yellow and I have apparently used almost half the avalaible space,

How is this possible if I only have ONE app loaded to the device other than the OS itself?

That doesn't make a lot of sense to me,

Re: prompt to close tabs - why?

Mine does just the same as your's, I have a 3Gcurve 9300 with 69mbs of memory.

I say 69MBs but with two browsing screens on of various sites etc the memory will devour itself down to 55 or 50MBs.

I now have almost nothing running on mine, no facebook on all the time, no antivirus running, nothing on the calender, nothing to run it down.
