expected battery life - 8520 Curve

Greetings -

I've owned my 8520 Curve for ~20 months.
Original battery.

In the past week, battery life has degenerated markedly.
Lucky to eke out a day with minimal use.
Previously, charging every two days ('average' use)
to five days (minimal use) was the norm.

Battery pulled out & re-inserted.
WiFi off, only the standard 5 apps running.
Deleted FaceBook, Twitter, LinkedIn.

Do batteries degenerate that quickly?

And, if so, is there a recommended vendor from whom to obtain
a bona fide replacement?
(It seems that there are many counterfeits on Amazon.)

Thanks,

- Richard

If you let it rundown below 20% on a consistent basis, yes, it can cause it to fail. There are only so many cycles a battery can take. Your problems sounds like a bad/dieing battery.

You may also just have too many apps running in the background, i.e. Facebook, Twitter, a map app, etc. Check our FAQ for an article on how to maximize battery life.

As for a vendor, go to your T-mo store and get a genuine OEM replacement for your exact device.

Unlikely. Deleted all that stuff. It ain't running.
(And FWIW, I never accepted the BBM end user agreement.
I don't do messaging (unless I need to get my teenage son's attention).)

They don't stock them. Nor does the local rat shack.
Amazon it is.
Maybe it'll last the 6 weeks 'til I can switch devices.
