Re: ehannaford
We need a more information than that. Was it working correctly previously?
Are you in an area with a strong signal from your carrier - Bell? What did you do to the device just before this occurred? Did you drop the device or get it wet? Have you tried a battery pull? 1st step to take if device is having problems? - BlackBerryFAQ |

Re: ehannaford
My phone is a 8820, I unlocked it yesterday from Rogers, my son gave it to me his company upgraded to newer ones, I have been online with Bell support they say phone is too old to switch over yet they were able to switch an older phone 8703E a couple of weeks ago but phone was broken, not able to hear from it. I have wiped hand held, reinstalled OS. The phone recognizes my phone # bu cant get any service.

Re: ehannaford
A quick Google search says that an 8820 will not work on Bell/Telus because it is a 2G phone and Bell/Telus are designed for 3G+.
However, I'm not entirely sure. Enter your IMEI number into this Bell Mobility site and check to see if your device is eligible: Will my mobile phone or smartphone work on the Bell network? --Phil |
