MDS runtime activation error

Can anybody help on activate MDS runtime?

I got error when activating MDS runtime on the device:
"Uncaught exception: invalid initialValue".

The procedure I've done:
1. on BB device, options->security->wipe handheld
2. Enterprise activation (success)
3. install MDS runtime (v1.0.1.57) from Blackberry Desktop Manager (success)
4. on BB device, options->MDS Activation

Then I got above error message and failed to activate MDS runtime.

Actually I've done it successfully a while ago. But this time no luck.

Any ideas? Thanks for help!

I've got the same problem on my newly upgraded 4.0 to 4.1 BEs server running with GroupWise. Anyone got any solutions? All the Blackberry and MDS services are all running correctly and users are receiving mail correctly but MDS just won't activate on my handheld.

cheers

Liam

Have any of you found a solution for this? I am having the same issue. When I go to Activate MDS from the device the security handshake stays at 0% and then the following shows:

State: Activation Error
Status: MDS Server Failure.
Service Book: Desktop
Server URL: h ttp://ppbes00:7800/mds
(note: I put a space in the Server URL for the purpose of this post as this site is not allowing me to post URLS until I have 10 posts)

The BES admins have notified me that...
1) MDS Services is installed and enabled.
2) MDS Services has been restarted since being enabled
3) They sent me a screenshot of the Blackberry Manager that shows the Server URL to be the same as what is on my device.
4) There is no policy that will prevent my device from activating MDS
5) A software configuration has not been assigned to my device.

Same issue, a year later ....

What did you all do to fix this?

Try pushing the service books to the device in question.

We ended up doing a total rebuild with the latest code. The actual error was caused by MDS "reporting" a full install, but files were missing. I completely removed MDS and started over and it worked fine.

MDS runtime error

I am having the same issues with the MDS activation runtime errors with no luck. Any new suggestions or feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Wirelessly posted (blackberry8830: BlackBerry8830/4.2.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/189)

Do you have the SRP for your BES server?
Ideleted MDS runtime app>reboot device>readded mds >then added http under trusted hostes>synchronized certs with desktop manager>reset pin>enterprise activate

I'm stuck too at 33% processing policies....
