No Voice Recorder?

I am new to Blackberry, just recently purchasing a 7130e from Telus up here in Canada. I really like the Blackberry, and as soon as I get more experience on it and learn some shortcuts, I'm really going to love it. There is however one glaring omission and that is some kind of voice recorder.:-o

A Blackberry is designied for communication in the business sector, and you would think that personal voice recordings would be a given. Is there any alternative (aside from leaving yourself a voicemail message) that would allow someone to have voice recordings? We do have a microphone ie. the phone, so it would seem a reasonable request to add a voice recorder.

Can you tell me if this has been requested by RIM already?

I did a search using your terms "voice recorder" and got many results, all of which pointed to the answer being No. Many people seem to agree that it is a great idea and some point to reasons why it is not available.

While many people agree that it would be a good idea to have a voice recorder, the major users are more concerned about security than convience, hence RIMs resistance to putting Voice Recording capability in BBs. Other reasons are keeping integration simple and the limited memory availabile for storage.

Hope this helps

The only voicerecorder that I have ever seen for any RIM product can be found at the link below. Obviously, this won't work with your device, but it is interesting. I was going to get one when I was using my 957, but never got around to it.
