what kind of battery stamina are all of you getting???
 

i'd like to find out what type of battery life all the new pearl owners are getting.. typical useage and how is the battery working for you? thanks

I would say I'm below average use on talk time, but internet browser hog.

I could go for day and a half before needing to charge.

Surprisingly, I have had great luck with battery life. Usually 2 days before needing a charge.

When i first purchased the phone, I was getting a day at the most. Then, I let it charge overnight. That made the world of difference. Now I can go about three days. Although I don't use the phone for voice calls, the battery life is much better.

are you all serious??!!! 2-3 days!!! that's about as BAD as the nokia N80 i had!!! 2-3days of battery life is pathetic!! i got this because it's supposed to be 15 days of standby!!! i might consider keeping the N80,, that phone's functions are above and beyond the pearl as i'm seeing!!

I would say 2-3 days is in the 90th percentile of a phone's battery life. I think only about ten percent of phones released on the market get 4, 5, 6, and more days of moderate use.

I charge my 8700g everyday :(, maybe i need to call t-mobile for a battery replacement.

Are YOU serious, just plug the phone in when you sleep.

With typically very heavy data usage and minimal phone usage, after a 12- 14 hr day I'm @ 15%. I haven't tried to see how long standby lasts.

It probably would stand by for 15 days if you put all the settings on 0, turned of the antenna (can you do that with the N80 i wonder?), turned the ringer on MUTE and just left it on "idle" with no backlight and not touching it but it would still be considered "on".

I never understood other poeple, talking about 2, 3 days usage. My body must suck power from batteries.

I never had one days usage of battery, for 15 years of cellphone use (which included about 3 hours total on my Motorola brick), until my Sony Ericsson P800. Then I could go a day without recharge.

On my BB 8700, I had 12 hours use with the standard, and 1.5 days with the big battery.

With the 8100, I am alarmingly low (under 10%) after 12 hours.

I use the phone all day for voice, and also e-mail/data/and apps.

Then you are a heavy user of devices. Buy a spare battery then..

With mid to heavy voice usage and about 100 emails/day, I am at about 20% battery life at night. A full charge over night does the trick and I have noticed that the more I use it, the longer the battery seems to last, over a period of one week of ownership.

With my 8100 I get 3 days.

Who in the world needs 15 days of standby?

Lithium ion batteries don't like to be fully discharged anyway. You should always charge them when they get to 50% capacity or less.

I know, but, the world revolves aorund me :smile: , so I am just supposing that all devices should be developed for my needs, and a battery should last me all day. But they never do.

And don't get me started on supposed 5 hour laptop life .....

just picked this beauty up two days ago. Yesterday I probably spent at least 4 or 5 hours straight on blackberry messenger, in addition to about an hour of phone calls, plus internet usage and emails all day and by the end of the day the batter had about 15-20% left. Unplugged it at 8:30am and went to bed around 1am. Not bad considering the fact that it was plugging away all day.

Also the screen is far brighter than necessary so I've turned down brightness to 20 (out of 100). Still debating if I need auto-dim on or off. I know that on my powerbook bringing down the brightness (to a point where it's still absolutely tolerable) saves a shitton of battery life.

Anyone else experimented with this yet?

Got to be people who do not need a phone in the first place!

Battery life is about 100% better than the 7100t.

I'm getting absolutely terrible battery time. I charged it fully last night, it's 3PM and it's almsot dead! I haven't talked on it that much today, but when I do, I use my headset. I'm always checking my mail on it (every 5 minutes or more) so it's always on.

Seriously though, the batter life on this thing sucks compared to the 7100s......
