Simulator Not connecting to internet

I've been trying for several days to get the BB simulator and MDS to work. All I'm wanting to do is test my web pages on a Blackberry to ensure they are formated correctly.

I have downloaded and installed the versions of the simulator and MDS.

BlackBerry_Email_MDS_4[1].1.0-4.exe
BlackBerry_Simulators_4[1].1.0.194.exe (I've also installed BlackBerry_Email_MDS_4[1].1.2.exe)

MDS is working, when I start it, the command window displays and stays open and displays actions.

But when I try to use the BB browser, I get the following message.

"HTTP Error 400: Bad Request
The server could not understand the page request or was unable to process it for some reason..."

I've tried this with different versions of the Simulators, but get the same result.

Please help!

TIA

Brian.

That is the error you get on the device right? What does the MDS log says? Perhaps that will help.

Yes, that's the message I'm getting on the simulator device. I'm attaching the MDS log from the time I click on the browser home page on the BB Simulator to when I get the error message.

Thanks for you help!.

  • Are you trying to access a web page that is accessible from your Intranet or the Internet?
  • If Internet, do you have to authenticate via a proxy?
  • Is the web page hosted on standard ports?

I am at work, but when I try from home when I'm not connected to my work network, I get the same results. I don't believe I'm connected via a proxy. My Proxy server settings in IE are not completed.

Thanks for all of you help..as it turns out, I was using a proxy server, so I made the modifications to my rimpublic.property file and it works now.

Again, thanks for your replies.
