Blackberry Cool seems to be stating that they heard a rumor that BIS 2.4 will be available tomorrow

For which carriers? I'm assuming you mean VZW?

? Why Verizon? They are always the last people on the planet to adopt new stuff.

OPs Carrier indicates VZW ... hence the reason I assumed that.

BIS 2.4 confirmed?

If it's coming to one NA carrier, it comes to all of them at once.

Did this happen today?

Doesn't seem to have changed yet. I have BIS accounts with both SunCom and Verizon (temporarily) and I can't tell any change in either system.

No change in mine yet...

In the past, how long has it taken the carriers to release, once its available?
I remember waiting quite awhile for 2.3 to come out.

Not much to get too excited over.

The upgrade will happen on T-Mobile tonight at 11pm-3am PT and blackberry internet email will be down during the upgrade.

So this is an automatic upgrade for all existing BIS accounts?

Yes its my understanding that all T-Mobile BIS/BIE customers will be upgraded automaticly. Its mostly a server side change.

I think my VZW 8830 does all of this stuff already.

I agree with you. I am not reading anything that we could not do with the 2.3 version.

This appears to be live. My Yahoo! mail account is now a Yahoo! logo icon with an envelope.

is there an easy way to tell the BIS version number?

specifically, how do i tell if cingular/at&t's site is running 2.4?
