In my case the new card worked and continues to work perfectly. They are so cheap these days that I suggest you just grab one somewhere-- that's probably the fix.

I've had an identical problem with my 8330, and found an interesting caveat. If and only if I set Mas Media mode to auto, remove password protection to my bb, then turn off the power, then plug in...
