I feel your pain. Same thing happened to me. I have T-Mobile and I ended up calling a Sprint store and sweet talking them into fixing my phone. They replaced the trackball for me free of charge.

If I were you, I would push for them to send you a new one. I know with regular phones, they send you a brand new one or an upgrade after the third handset exchange.
