I was sooooo close to dumping the Tour and going back to my ultra-reliable Curve 8330 as well. But I replaced it with a newer working-trackball Tour and I am once again in Tour Bliss!

No OS 5.0...

I only have to ALT-CAPS-DEL *once* to reboot. Hold for second and the screen blanks and you enter a restart mode. Faster than a battery pull.

This is true - if you go to the Garmin website, you will see that there is no version available for the 9630 (at least not yet). You're using a wrong copy of Mobile and that's why it doesn't work...
