To get GPS working without a puck. Go to preferences > advanced > GPS. Make sure option is set to Location On (not 911 only). Access BBMaps. Then access Google Maps and GPS should work.

To enable GPS on Google Maps on Verizon, go to preferences > advanced > GPS and make sure that the option for GPS isn't set to 911 only, but "Location On."
