LCD screen cleaning wipes.
Compressed air can.

Removed battery.
Squeezed the LCD wipes and let a drop or two fall on the trackball...

I can only describe my experience, don't take it as advice. I had my 9000 unlocked from AT&T in March 2010, the tech asked me to replace the AT&T SIM with the foreign one and turn the phone back on....
