Has anyone noticed if the speeds via BT modem are slower than using the BB onboard browser directly?

My speed fluctuates so much that I cannot work it out. I am getting about 50% of the maximum...

I have a 10.5.7 and found that there was a RIM modem script already there. Maybe it was from the Desktop Manager for Mac that I installed ... try that.
