BBSAK goes a few steps further (erasing a few more things) than *just* installing a new OS does, but they both wipe out the OS.

1) i dont know. i have an 8900. i wont be able...

2) i dont use SMS (i use google voice) but afaik, this issues...

this is all i know so far:

- Locking your BlackBerry with .554 still includes standby.

i will post back once i do the upgrade couple of hours from now......
