I use the browser on my 7230 with backlight and do not see the drain you are talking about. Sometimes I don't even charge the phone for 3-4 days and still have enough juice to browse.

I don't think they'll go to the extent of opening your phone, etc. I have had Tmo for over three years and had my T610 and the V300 exchanged without questions. BTW, what BB do you have?
