Now the egg timer has stopped coming on, just the red light now, for 15 seconds, then goes off.

Anyone know if a damaged sim tray or meory card tray could cause the 9810 to not turn on, function...

Thanks for the reply. It wasnt a repair person, it was one of the Reps in the O2 store here in the UK.

I dont know if it is possible to repair the sim tray without replacing the motherboard, or...
