Thanks for all the replies. I had never used mass storage mode and didn't know what it was for, but I just tried it and it works like a charm.

That Roxio program is the pits.

I tried logging in to my router just for the heck...

I tried logging in to my router just for the heck of it using an 8320 curve and had no problem. It's a little slow, but I could login and change settings.

Not sure if your device is the same as the curve, but it it is you can goto options -> Mobile network -> connection preference and choose wifi preferred. See it that will cure your problem.
