I think your discrediting all the apps that are available in the app store. They offer solutions to a lot of your list. And again, most people do not use these functions. Your average user is not one that wants to hassle with updating the BB OS, deal with BES admins, or many other things that some BB hardcore users feel are needed.
The best example is the update OS portion of the devices, how easy is it to do for iphone vs. BB. Priorities are everything and if sending PIN messages or having Garmin GPS or updating Google
Maps(?) is important then BB is the right device. Just be ready for a steep learning curve.
