I don't believe ALT+CAP+DEL does as complete a reset as SoftReset or a battery pull. I base this assumption on the fact that, sometimes, ALT+CAP+DEL reset brings the phone back up in just 30 seconds or so, while after a battery pull it takes nearly 2 minutes to come back online.
