Right from the article you posted

I wasn't under the impression there was a code, but I guess they have to lock the phone somehow. But the thing with CDMA phones was the other carrier had to flash the device with their software for it to work on the network and I guess that was a joint process between the two carriers if that did happen. Sprint a lot of the times would not flash the device if it didn't have Sprint branding. Companies that unlock phones do not have codes to unlock CDMA phones that I have ever noticed...
