Having said that, both displays look like they have potential for scratches, the internal display specifically from resting against the keypad when the flip is closed.
I've dropped mine a couple of times already, with no ill effects.

I also have the hinge play...I bought mines November 20th and I am really thinking about going to the 8900 curve....
