Water + electricity = BAD BAD BAD.
You can even wash an electronic device like a BlackBerry in water, and dry it out properly with no electricity present, and it will work again, and this is even commonly recommended for a BB that has had something sugary like CocaCola spilt on it, or been dunked in salt water where the remaining dry mineral salts will also ruin the device, once dried.
so, that is why the 4-5 days is required.

Well they are going to see if they can possibly pull the data from the harddrive (or motherboard, or whatever) and put it on a disk for me. Its free if they can't so we'll see.
