The 9700 is really nice. I never owned the original bold because I didn't like the big size of it (but I'm sure it was something bold owners got used to). The new bold is awesome and has a great form factor. The keyboard is really nice and I'm typing this from the new bold right now. A couple downsides are that the trackpad is a little wobbly but it works amazingly. also, the bottom plate with the carrier logo on it is also pretty wobbly. But other than some wobbly parts, the phone is solid and great.
