I moved to the 9700 because I wanted the form factor of the 8700 with the performance and features of the 9000. It's as simple as that for me. Has it change my life? Nah...
But to get back to why I was sarcastic in the first place... did marketing drive me to the 9700? I don't think so. The technical details of the 9700 did. If marketing had any influence, then I would have also wanted the Tour, and the Storm 2, and the Pearl Flip, and the new Curve... but I didn't, and I still don't.
