I have about 5 apps + 1 gb of music on a separate card. I've also used the "memory cleaning tool" to no avail.
Any one know of a fix/solution?

Spinning hour glass = Low memory.
Apps do not install on media card. The 5 apps are on your device memory which is what is probably low.
menu>Options>Status (What is your file free?)
