I was irritated with at&t when I discovered I was basically told a lie, either that or the CSR was ignorant to the truth. I was told that I could only tether my BlackBerry using the at&t
Communications Manager software. After months of no issues, the software simply stopped working--would not recognize my device although the BlackBerry DM would. Even updating the software would not work. I stumbled across the method I posted and was pleased to find it worked. It is also a more reliable connection than the at&t software. It tended to timeout on me.
