In order for this to happen from the device side, it requires and Ad-Hoc connection which doesn't align with RIM's security strategy. I wouldn't expect it anytime soon for "RIM" to allow this

I currently have a Windows Mobile device and use WMWifiRouter which works GREAT, but will miss it if I move back to a Blackberry.
