Default Phone freezing and lagging - possible memory issue?

Please Login to Remove!

I'm experiencing some issues with 1 of the blackberrys we have at work. Often when the phone is first picked up to be used it will freeze up and be completely unresponsive for 5-10 seconds. Once it starts responding again it is usually alright though it still sometimes freezes up sporadically.

This is the only blackberry of the half dozen we have to have this issue. I have checked to see if the user has any applications running in the background, but they have no more than any of the other users. Just things like email, phone, home screen, browser. However the phone does have over 1700 contacts on it (it belongs to one of our sales reps).

Now I'm not sure if this could be the issue as I don't know where I can check to see how much of the memory the contacts are using. I looked in the memory menu under options but all it states is memory free and memory total/free on the memory card. The memory card has all 1.8GB free, however the other memory (i'm assuming the phones memory) I believe has less than 10meg free; though it doesn't say what the total memory is. If this is the problem then how can I move the saved contacts off of the phone memory and onto the memory card.

Thanks for any replies.
