I'm running an unlocked 8900 from T-Mobile with a Norwegian carrier, but I signed up for the update newsletter via DM and got an email telling me there was a new update available. I couldn't find a direct download link on t-mobiles website so I think you need to be a t-mobile customer to be able to upgrade your phone. Otherwise I would suggest the next best thing which is upgrading to 5.0.0.822.
