I kind of thought the same thing too when I first started exploring my PB...however upon thinking it further I realized that without all of the options for the phone, you have eliminated a ton of options for things like ring tones, call behavior, etc...as far as auto on/off goes perhaps this will be included in a later software release? As a side note I love the PB and am super happy so far!
