Unhappy Synching with outlook

My BB torch 9800 was set up to synch with my outlook Calendar. All was fine, then after the Christmas break I plugged it in and whilst the phone will charge it will not synch with outlook. I have tried everything it suggests - rebooting the PC, rebooting the phone, changing usb leads etc but the computer and the phone will not talk to each other. Our IT experts have looked at it and they cannot see why it will not work. Help.
