I just lost my 8800 (ouch) and was given an 8100 by a buddy (who hated it, but free is free). It was working fine until I decided to upgrade the OS to 4.2.0.64 downloaded from T-Mobile. The alert line is now flashing red but it won’t boot up. An odd twist to things is it looks like the Auto On/Off is working. The alert light stopped flashing late last night and started this morning.
My PC recognizes the device but the desktop manger doesn’t (with or without a battery). I’ve swapped it out battery, so it’s not that. I don't think returning it is an option.
Is it dead? Am I stuck with my old 8700?
