Default home network lags... when using voice...

I upgraded yesterday to the curve on tmo as I work from home and on track to use more then 5,000 minutes this month. One of the reasons I upgraded as I was under the understanding that the BB shared the bandwidth very similar to VOIP but according to the reps I have spoken with the BB hogs all of the bandwidth off the router to insure extremely high call quality which makes my internet lag or not move at all. This is extremely frustrating as it makes the h@h almost useless if I can't work on my notebook while on a conference call.

Can anyone confirm what I have wrote and is there a work around to allow the phone to only use a certain amount of bandwidth or only allow the router so much bandwidth allocated to voice resources...???? I have a 10mb download through Charter Communications.

Other then that issue I find the BB Curve to be awesome!! I moved from an 8700g to a Pearl and now to a Curve. I am quite satisfied with the functionality and features...
