I work for Verizon, as I said, and I have 3 different phones tethered, and two different aircards hooked up to my laptop. (for training purposes). Manual connections are easier to manage and set-up for multiple devices in my opinion. And, to add, I have seen cases that the VZAccess Mgr software was causing issues, and manual connections fixed the issue.
