It's a security feature of the BB. What if someone picks up your BB and attempts to gain access to it? Isn't that the whole reason for the password? To protect your data? The BB did it's job and did it well. Also, I would guess that if you enter the wrong pin a few times at your ATM that you would be locked out of your account.
