I had the 8830 for a few days and didn't like it. Too large (tho I had lived with a Palm Treo for 3 years), too slippery, didn't like the case. Also no real point in getting the quad band for international because it's too expensive to use overseas--like $1.29 per minute, since it is roaming. Better to buy a cheap cell phone in Europe and load a SIM w minutes, which is what I did. So for the US, I got the Pearl....and I love it. Only drawback is small keyboard but I'm mastering that too.
