Is there a way to add a proxy address & -port to the APN setting ?

Reason for my asking is the following >>
I've have this email client installed (LogicMail) to connect to my carrier Vodafone POP3 email account via GPRS. This connection concerns a so-called 'offnet' session, which is billed.
On my previous Samsung phone, however, these same GPRS sessions were 'onnet' Vodafone connections, and free-of-charge!! On the Samsung, the APN settings also included Vodafone proxy-address and -port settings, which are absent on my 8520, and I guess this forces the connection to go 'offnet'.
