I guess this application works with the 7230 but there must be some RIM functions on 7100 that gets rid of it.

I uninstalled the client on my 7230 yesterday and had a similar experience -- the SMS messages automagically appeared in my inbox. I didn't like the possibility I would be hit with a 5 cent charge for every message sent or received. So much for exploring new frontiers.
