UPDATED...

Benchmark results in main post have now been updated. Keep the posts coming, your name will be up in lights in the main post!

7250 is the RocketBerry Winner
It's very clear that the BlackBerry 7250 performs much faster. Someone even reported that the web browser operates 5 to 7 times faster than on the 7750. If you want the fastest BlackBerry on any network today, the 7250 is the current winner so far.

7750 is the TurtleBerry Prize
There's no contest. The 7750's are plain slow units. Avoid at all costs, if you are shopping for a new BlackBerry model. They do the job, but if you're shopping today, avoid the fire sales of old 7750's unless you really need them only for email.

Nextel 7520's may be RocketBerries too!
According to JBenchmark1 results, it appears that the Nextel 7520's are very fast BlackBerries too as well. Unfortunately, the lack of JBenchmark2 results makes this difficult to compare. This is in blame to BlackBerryOS Version 4.0.0.160

7290 is not a RocketBerry. No GSM/GPRS RocketBerry exists!
Unfortunately, the 7290 is no faster than the 7230/7280. The benchmark results are the same. The extra memory (32meg) will definitely keep the hourglass away longer, but when running nearly the same OS version (BlackBerryOS) on both for a more apples-to-apples comparision, there is very little speed difference. Hopefully, RIM will be releasing a GPRS/EDGE-capable BlackBerry with the same performance numbers as a 7250. You lucky CDMA guys, we GSM people are temporarily jealous of you, until RIM releases a new model ;)

OS Version 4.0.0.160 is no good for JBenchmark2
According to benchmark results, the OS version 4.0.0.160 is no good for JBenchmark2. It appears you need at least Version 4.0.0.171 in order to successfully run JBenchmark2. Unforunately, there is not yet a newer version of operating system for Nextel 7520's, but hopefully there will be soon.

Main post may no longer be updated for 7230, 7280, and 7290
Due to overwhelming responses, and the need to keep the size of the post down to a reasonable size, I am going to stop updating the main post when there's at least 5 or 6 fully valid benchmark results for a specific model for JBenchmark1 and JBenchmark2. However, please feel free to post your benchmark results. I still need benchmark results for other models such as 7510 and the 7250, for example!
