I agree. This 15 min interval thing is disappointing. As I understood it, I thought people were using Blackberry email like SMS. If I would have known about the 15 minute interval when I was bying the device I might have stayed with a system where you can determine your own polling interval on the device itself.
and you would have had horrible battery life, but you go with that .

name any PDA phone with nearly as good a battery life as the 88xx series. 21-30 days of standby out of the box. Winmo on activesync, or better yet a Palm running Winmo you are lucky to get a day out of it. The BlackBerry is set up this way for a reason. If you want instant email, use the free address you get for activating a data plan, or use BES. Just because you didnt research the product BEFORE purchasing means nothing. If you want a device that does something else, the solution is simple. Get another device.
