I'm using it stock... haven't tweaked any keyboard settings, so perhaps changing some will change my perception...
Cross-clicking (if you mean using the "wrong" thumb... yeah, it yields worse results than using the thumb closer to it... not sure why, but it just does work better to use the left thumb for keys on the left side of the screen...
I think calibration will be very good... I have trouble clicking buttons on web pages, but... I just discovered if you turn the "cursor" on, it is really a lot easier, since it shows exactly what will click w/ an arrow. I'm not sure if you can set this as default or not.
