I didn't mean it that way ai. To each his own. I do understand the need for a longer cable and may just go ahead and add it to the travel case. I have used mine plenty in the way you describe. Who knows, I may go back to the retired gadget drawer and drag it out again. There's lots of odds and ends in that drawer that are still usable. (Except the 7280
)
